The Missouri Department of Transportation is backing a bill that would ban cellphone use while driving unless you have a hands-free device.

MoDOT cites a particularly deadly 2021 on state highways and the high number of crashes that are caused by distracted driving. However, current law only bans cellphone use for people 21 and under and a universal ban has been met with opposition in the past.
