Election judges certify April 5 Boone County election, Third Ward race remains tied
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Election judges certificated the April 5 election in Boone County.
The two judges started the process of hand-counting ballots around 8 a.m. on Monday before finishing just before 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The certification means that the Third Ward race against Karl Skala and Roy Lovelady remains tied with 1,102 votes apiece.
Both Skala and Lovelady have seven days to request a recount but Skala says he trusts the county's election process and doesn't plan to ask for one.
The candidates could go to a special election or draw names out of a hat.
