Gov. Parson announces five appointments to boards and commissions; Columbian named to Mental Health Commission

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Gov. Mike Parson named a Columbian to the Mental Health Commission and four other appointments to various boards and commissions and filled one county office vacancy.

The governor appointed Brian Neuner to the Mental Health Commission.

The release states,

Neuner currently serves as the Chief Development and Marketing Officer for Special Olympics of Missouri. Prior to joining Special Olympics of Missouri, he served as Director of Business Development and Public Relations for Joe Machens Dealerships. Mr. Neuner is an Emmy award winning journalist for Outstanding Sports Reporting and a two-time winner of the Edward R. Murrow Award for Outstanding Journalism. He is a board member of Safety Net, which supports law enforcement in Central Missouri, and the University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing Advisory Council. He has supported the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Central Missouri Step Up for Down Syndrome, and the American Alzheimer’s Association. Mr. Neuner also served on the Boone Hospital Center Board of Trustees for more than 12 years. He holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
