President Donald Trump and federal attorneys have been battling in public opinion and the courtroom over Trump's invocation of a wartime act allowing the deportation of illegal immigrants without hearings.

The administration flew more than 200 Venezuelans to El Salvador where they were detained in an infamous super prison. Trump claimed the deported immigrants had ties to the Tren de Aragua gang.
