QUESTION OF THE DAY: Is now the right time to leave Afghanistan?

President Joe Biden unveiled his plans this week for pulling U.S. troops out of Afghanistan.

The withdrawal will begin May 1 and be complete by Sept. 11, the president said. The move ends a 20-year war in a country where worries persist about whether the government can retain power.

Some members of Congress are critical of the plan, warning of a resurgent Taliban that could again make the country a haven for terrorists.
