WEATHER ALERT DAY: Second round of snow dwindling, roads remain dangerous

Snow continues to fly but isn't as heavy as it was yesterday morning. Most folks that will pick up additional accumulations will only see minor additions from here on out.
UPDATE - WEDNESDAY PM, 2/2/22
Steady snow has filtered back into Mid-Missouri with heavy bands setting up near Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks. Snow is expected to continue to lift north overnight and stick around into early Thursday afternoon, making road conditions dangerous.
An additional 1-2" of snow is expected this morning, with the highest amounts centered near I-44 and the Lake of the Ozarks.

The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team has issued a Weather Alert Day tonight through midday Friday.
As low pressure moves through, a cold front will work through the region, setting up across southern Missouri tonight into Wednesday.
Snowfall is expected through early Thursday, ending by Thursday afternoon. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the teens today, making it tough for transportation crews to treat roads as we fall to near zero by Friday morning. Slick roads will be possible through Friday due to the frigid temperatures.

Updated on Wednesday Afternoon, 2/2: An additional 2-4" is expected along and north of I-70 overnight, with higher amounts south of that corridor through Thursday afternoon.
Roads will quickly deteriorate tonight with slick conditions possible through Thursday. Wind gusts up to 20 mph will make visibility an issue as snow comes down.

Issued on Monday, the below image is valid from through Wednesday. Major impacts are expected across mid-Missouri, meaning that folks could see major disruptions to daily life and travel. Again, to reference the previous graphic, travel will likely be dangerous by Wednesday morning.
Dangerous temperatures settle in as snow moves out Thursday night, with lows dropping to near or just below zero. Wind chills will drop to about -5 to -7 degrees by Friday morning.
