WEATHER ALERT DAY: Morning Clouds Tampering Afternoon Heat

While we are waking up to stormy conditions this morning, we are primarily concerned with the warmer temperatures that we have yet to see for today. Highs this afternoon will be in the lower 90s.

While these are already warm temperatures to begin with, the real concern comes from a heat index that will top out near 100 degrees this afternoon. Dew points in the 70s will contribute to a high humidity and heat index today.

If you're looking for ways to keep yourself, your family, and your pets safe, here are a few tips for you.

  1. Drink a lot of water
  2. Don't leave pets or small children in cars, even with the windows down
  3. Try to avoid being outside for extended periods of time
