WEATHER ALERT DAY: Near hurricane force wind gusts slam mid-Missouri Wednesday morning

The ABC 17 StormTrack Weather Team continues a Weather Alert Day until NOON Wednesday. This is as very strong winds continue to pound the region.

Max Wind Gusts Wednesday Morning (Hurricane force winds begin at 74 mph)

Moberly reported the highest wind gust at 65mph, just 9 mph shy of hurricane force winds.

Winds are expected to diminish through the morning.

Winds of this magnitude have the potential of causing tree damage and power outages. Thankfully winds are on the down-swing as we progress through 9 & 10 am.

Something else we have to deal with are COLD temperatures. It's much colder out the door this morning, with temperatures in the 30s and wind chills in the low 20s. Make sure to bundle up as you head out the door!

Thankfully the weekend is looking a bit better!
