Emergency repairs to again close eastbound lane of Interstate 70 in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Emergency repairs will again close a lane of Interstate 70 eastbound in Columbia near the St. Charles Road exit, the Missouri Department of Transportation said Monday.

The closure of the driving (right) lane will begin at 3 p.m. Monday. Work will continue and the lane will reopen on Tuesday morning, MoDOT says.

The area near St. Charles Road on eastbound I-70 has been the spot of frequent emergency repairs. MoDOT has said abnormal, excess moisture under the road in that area has been causing the problem. That section of road is also being work on as part of MoDOT's I-70 expansion.

The emergency work is taking place near the 131 mile marker.
