MoDOT extends closure of Bagnell Dam Bridge into next week

LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation will extend the closure of the Bagnell Dam Bridge at the Lake of the Ozarks into the third week of May.

The department posted to Twitter on Thursday morning that the bridge on Business Highway 54 over the dam will close again Monday. Crews expect to reopen the bridge next Friday.

MoDOT plans to reopen the bridge to drivers Thursday night ahead of the weekend. Next week's closure of the Bagnell Dam bridge is expected to allow workers to finish the more than $1.6 million rehabilitation project.

Crews closed the Bagnell Dam in September. The project includes expected improvements to the bridge deck and repairs to the sidewalk along the bridge.

Workers built the current Bagnell Dam Bridge in 1929.
