Traffic shift announced for Highway 63 in Columbia next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A traffic shift through a work zone on Highway 63 in Columbia is expected to occur next week, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced in a Thursday press release.

The new southbound bridge near Interstate 70 will be completed and crews will start work on the northbound bridge soon, the release says.

Both directions of traffic between Route W and Conley Road are using the northbound lanes. The new traffic pattern will be in place through the end of August, the release says.

The work is part of the Improve I-70 Project, which aims to make Interstate 70 a three-lane highway in both directions across the entire state.
