COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

City Of Columbia Public Works crews started removing railroad tracks on Rogers Street, east of Rangeline Street, on Monday.

The City said in a Friday press release that the tracks are being removed because of the deterioration of the ties. There’s no scheduled for future railroad work, according to the release. Work is expected to be completed by Wednesday.

Traffic on Rogers Street will be restricted to one lane as work is completed.

New tracks could be reinstalled in the future, the release states. The next step for the project will be to fill holes with concrete.
