Speed humps to be installed on South Garth Avenue this week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
City of Columbia Public Works will be installing speed humps on South Garth Avenue on Thursday, according to a Wednesday press release.
Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m.
The speed humps are part of an effort to reduce speeds in the area, which in the results of a traffic study were found to be unsafe. A map from the City indicates six speed humps will be placed in between the 100 and 300 blocks of South Garth Avenue.
Signs and flaggers will be present. No street closures will be necessary, the release states.
The cost of the project is $30,000, paid with funds obtained from the 2015 capital improvements sales tax, the release states.
