Pavement maintenance scheduled for Columbia streets; road work also announced in Boone and Cole counties

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Road work will begin Friday in Columbia on several streets, according to a press release from the City.

Work is expected to be completed by Friday, June 30. Capital Paving -- contractors for the City of Columbia Public Works -- are scheduled to perform mill and overlay pavement maintenance on:

  • Lea Verde Court between Willowcreek Lane and the end of the street;
  • Willowcreek Lane between West Nifong Boulevard and the end of the street;
  • Green Meadows Road between Forum Boulevard and Bethel Street;
  • Green Meadows Road between Grindstone Parkway and the Carter Lane roundabout;
  • Green Meadows Road between Carter Lane and South Providence Road; and
  • Carter Lane between Foxfire Drive and Campusview Drive.

Crews plan to work daily from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m., but will not begin work until "no parking" signs have been posted at least 24 hours in advance, according to the release.

Temporary lane closures will be required, the release states. Traffic control signs and flaggers will be present to assist motorists through work zones as needed.

Boone County

A road closure was also announced in a Wednesday press release for Boone County.

Resource Management, will begin Monday an asphalt overlay on Obermiller Road betweenBear Creek Bridge to Creasy Springs Road. Work is expected to last seven weeks, according to the release.

The road will remain open but will be reduced to one lane during work hours, according to the release.

Cole County

Cole County Public Works announced in a Wednesday press release that Old Bass Road will be closed 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday. The closure will take place at Shipman Rd. West to the Miller County line, the release states.
