Rain delays geological testing near Rocheport Bridge

BOONE/COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Due to last weekend's weather, Missouri Department of Transportation contractors were unable to complete the necessary geological testing at the Missouri River Bridge near Rocheport.

Crews will be boring through the bridge deck to collect soil samples and rock characteristics of the land below as crews prepare for the construction of the new bridge. The samples will be used to help with the creation of design plans for the new bridge.

Crews will be working on the bridge again this weekend from Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, April 18 at 6 a.m.

There will be a westbound lane closure during the work.
