MoDOT to begin multiple projects next week across Mid-Missouri

Missouri Department of Transportation has several projects crews are starting next week.

Culvert Replacements Will Temporarily Impact Routes in Audrain and Boone County

Weather permitting, MoDOT will be doing the following work in Audrain County. Please see the dates and locations below. All work will be completed between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day.

  • Audrain County Route D - Oct. 13, road will be closed from 0.7 mile east of Audrain County Route M to 0.5 mile west of CRD 945 for culvert work.
  • Audrain County Route M - Oct. 14, road will be closed 1200 feet south of Audrain County Route HH/Route D for culvert work.
  • Audrain County Route M/D - Oct. 15, road will be closed 0.2 mile south of CRD 948/965 for culvert work.
  • Audrain County Route HH - Oct. 19, road will be closed from 1.5 miles west of CRD 921 to 0.20 mile east of CRD 937 for culvert work.
  • Audrain County Route HH - Oct. 20, road will be closed from 0.50 mile west of CRD 937 to just west of CRD 939 for culvert work.
  • Audrain County Route HH - Oct. 21, road will be closed from just east of CRD 949 to 1 mile west of CRD 941 for culvert work.

Motorists will need to use alternate routes during these times.

Work Planned for U.S. Route 63 and U.S. Route 24 in Randolph County

Weather permitting, MoDOT crews will be doing the following work in Randolph County.

  • U.S. Route 63 southbound - Oct. 13, road will be one lane traffic from U.S. Route 24 to 1 mile south of U.S. 24 for patching operations. The driving lane will be closed. Work will be completed between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. that day.
  • U.S. Route 24 - Oct. 14, road will be one lane traffic from U.S. 63 to the Monroe County line while crews perform core drilling operations. Work will be completed between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. that day.

Business 54 to Close for Roundabout Construction in Miller County

Traffic will be impacted next week as the construction of a new interchange and several roundabouts continues along U.S. Route 54, Business 54 and Miller County Route W.

The project contractor, working for the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin tying in a new roundabout at the Business 54 intersection with Wilmore Lane and the interchange connector road on Monday, October 12. This work will require Business 54 to be closed to traffic between Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the southern end of Bagnell Dam through Friday, October 16.

Drivers will be able to access Route W, Wilmore Lane, and Lakeside Office Plaza businesses from Route 54. Route 242 can be used to access the southern end of Bagnell Dam Boulevard, and River Road can be used to access Union Electric Road. Signs are in place to alert travelers of these closures.

Construction of the new Route 54 interchange at Miller County Route W and Osage Hills Road continues as well. A single westbound lane is closed to traffic and is expected to remain closed for the next two weeks in order for crews to tie in an interchange ramp and resurface the roadway.

Route J to Close for Culvert Pipe Replacement in Howard County

Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will replace a culvert pipe on Howard County Route J next week.

For the safety of travelers and workers on the road, Route J will be closed in both directions between Route 5 and County Road 309 on Wednesday, October 14 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Message boards will be in place to warn motorists in advance of the closure. Drivers will need to seek an alternate route around the work area. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers while this work takes place.

Culvert Pipe Replacement to Impact Travel on Howard County Routes

The replacement of culvert pipes will require lane closures on two routes in Howard County next week.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close one lane of Route 3 between Route JJ and County Road 215, Route 5/240 between Route FF and County Road 209, and Route 87 between Route 187 and County Road 316. The work at each location will begin on Tuesday, October 13. Lane closures will be required between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day. These improvements are scheduled to be complete by Friday, October 23.

Flaggers will be in place at each area to guide motorists through the work zones. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route around the work areas or expect minor delays.

MoDOT says they appreciate the patience of travelers while this work takes place.

Culvert Pipe Replacement to Impact Boone County Road

Drainage repair west of Centralia will require a single lane closure on Route CC and close access to a local roadway.

Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will replace a culvert pipe at the intersection of Boone County Route CC and Dinwiddie School Road on Tuesday, October 13. Work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

This improvement project will require the closure of Dinwiddie School Road and one lane of Route CC. Crews will flag Route CC traffic through the work zone. Drivers will need to use an alternate route to access Dinwiddie School Road.

Culvert Pipe Replacement to Impact Travel on Route 52 in Morgan County

Culvert pipe replacement work will close one lane of Missouri Route 52 in Stover next week.

The work will take place between Elm Street and Fourth Street on Monday, October 12. One lane will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Some delays are possible. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. Flaggers will be in place to guide motorists through the work area.

MoDOT says they appreciate the patience of travelers while this work takes place.

Multiple Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled for Route 54 in Capital City

Multiple maintenance and construction projects to improve bridges along U.S. Route 54 will require lanes to be closed next week.

The lane closures will take place overnight, starting Monday, October 12.

Individual lanes will be closed in each direction on Route 54 near the West Main Street bridge as part of a rehabilitation project being completed by a contractor for the Missouri Department of Transportation. All Route 54 and West Main Street lanes impacted by this project are scheduled to be opened by the end of October.

MoDOT maintenance crews will also be making bridge deck repairs at two westbound locations along Route 54. The tri-level bridge over Route 50 and the bridge over Stadium Boulevard will be reduced to one lane overnight. This work will also require the westbound Madison Street on-ramp to be closed. This project is scheduled to be completed by Friday, October 16.

Signs are in place to warn drivers of the upcoming closures. MoDOT says they appreciate the patience of travelers. Motorists are encouraged to avoid distractions, buckle up, and obey all traffic signs through work zones.
