Online interested parties meeting for Holly Avenue traffic calming project scheduled for Oct. 5-16

MGN Online

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The City of Columbia Public Works department is requesting public feedback regarding the Holly Avenue traffic calming project.

The project is intended to use traffic calming devices to lower operating speeds on Holly Avenue from Parker Street to Oakland Gravel Road.

Holly Avenue is seventh on the 2018 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List.

The Holly Avenue traffic calming project is currently planned to include a series of four-speed humps along Holly Avenue. The tentative locations of these traffic control devices are being planned for 1904 Holly Ave., 2102 Holly Ave., 2114 Holly Ave. and 2208 Holly Ave.

A previous interested parties meeting was held on Oct. 10, 2019. Preliminary designs have been drafted based upon that feedback.

Investment for this project is estimated at $25,000 paid for by the annual traffic calming funds.

As part of the City’s public involvement process for capital projects, and due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, Public Works is holding an online interested parties (IP) meeting from Monday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 16 at CoMo.gov/publicworks/holly-calming.
