COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Public Works crews are scheduled to start work on the turn lane from northbound Providence Road to eastbound Broadway on Monday.

The project will extend the right turn lane on Providence and rebuild the sidewalk in the area.

Crews are scheduled to work between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. The project is expected to finish in May.

Public Works said both roads will stay open during the project, but lane restrictions are possible. The turn lane will be closed throughout the work.

The city is paying about $130,000 from the 2015 Capital Improvement Sales Tax.
