COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Three people were seriously injured in a crash that involved two motorcycles on Thursday on Highway 54 in Osage Beach, according to press release from the Osage Beach Police Department.

The crash occurred near Key Largo, the release says.

Both vehicles were heading eastbound when a 56-year-old man from Indianola, Iowa, “slowed abruptly almost coming to a stop,” the release says. The other bike – rode by a 50-year-old Maple Hill, Kansas, man – changed lanes to avoid the Iowa man’s bike.

However, the Iowa man made an “abrupt left turn” which led to the crash, per the release.

A 55-year-old woman was a passenger on the Kansas man’s bike, the release says. No one in the crash wore a helmet, according to the report. All three people were brought to Lake Regional Hospital.
