1 dead, another injured in Osage County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person is dead and another is injured after a crash was reported Wednesday on Highway 100 in Osage County near County Road 421.

Osage County Sheriff Michael Bonham told ABC 17 News that the crash occurred after a vehicle went off the road and went into the woods.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop F -- which covers much of Mid-Missouri -- confirmed in a social media post that the driver died in the crash and a passenger was brought to a hospital.

Bonham stated a helicopter was called into to bring a patient to a hospital.

Motorists are being asked by law enforcement to avoid the area while first responders work.
