Lake Ozark man dies in Camden County crash on bridge

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 20-year-old man from Lake Ozark, Missouri, was killed in a crash on the Route MM bridge on Thursday, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The report says a 1999 Ford F-250 – driven by an 18-year-old Brumley man – was facing south while it was stopped in the westbound lane of the Route MM bridge when a 2013 Mazda CX-5 – driven by the 20-year-old – hit the back of the Ford and both vehicles skid off the right side of the road.

Both vehicles then came back to the road and went off the other side, the report says. Both vehicles stopped while facing east, the report says.

The 18-year-old was wearing a seatbelt and had not reported injuries. The 20-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt, the report says. He was brought to Lake Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the report says.

The Mazda was totaled, while the Ford had extensive damage.
