Man seriously injured in Chariton County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 20-year-old Sumner man was seriously injured in a crash Friday morning on Highway 139 in Chariton County, about 7 miles north of Sumner.

A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says that a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro -- driven by the man -- was heading northbound when it went off the roadway and hit an embankment. The man was brought to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance.

The report says the man was wearing a seatbelt. The Camaro had extensive damage.
