1 dead, 2 seriously injured after dump truck crashes into Gasconade County home

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An elderly man was killed and two people were seriously injured after a dump truck crashed into a home Tuesday morning at 305 East Lincoln Ave. in Owensville, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the report, a 2006 Western Star Dump Truck was heading westbound on Highway 28 when it went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole, concrete parking post, a tree and the house.

The driver – a 70-year-old man from New Haven – was seriously injured and taken to Mercy Hospital by ambulance, the report says.

One of the occupants in the home -- an 84-year-old Owensville man – was killed in the crash and was taken to the Crawford County coroner, according to the report.

Another person in the home – an 82-year-old woman from Owensville – was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Mercy Hospital by ambulance, the report says.

The 70-year-old man was not wearing a seatbelt, the report says. The truck was totaled.
