Man seriously injured in Johnson County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 33-year-old man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday on southbound Highway 13 at Blackwater River in Johnson County, Missouri, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The report says a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was trying to pass another vehicle, but it began to “fish tail.” The Silverado went off the right side of the road and ejected the driver – a 27-year-old man from Chula, the report says. The vehicle stopped on an embankment, the report says.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered moderate injuries, the report says. A 33-year-old Chula man – who was a passenger in the vehicle – was wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries, the report says. Both were brought to Centerpoint Medical Center by ambulance, the report says.

The Silverado was totaled.
