COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Officials says one person suffered a leg injury in a three-vehicle crash Thursday on Route B near Route HH, just north of Columbia.

The road was briefly closed, but reopened before 5 p.m.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 30-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the crash.

The report says a 2021 Kia Sedona was heading southbound when it slowed and stopped to make a left turn. A 2011 Dodge Durango stopped behind the Kia and a 2002 Mercury Sable failed to stop and rear-ended the Dodge, which in turn crashed into the Kia, the report says.

The driver of the Mercury had serious injuries and was brought to University Hospital by ambulance. A passenger in the Mercury -- a 3-year-old girl – had minor injuries and was brought to University Hospital in a private vehicle, the report says. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, while the girl was not secured in a safety device, the report says.

The driver of the Dodge – a 37-year-old man from the country of Colombia – had minor injuries but refused treatment, the report says. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The Kia had moderate damage, while the other two vehicles were totaled, the report says.
