COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A car crash closed down a road Monday night near Cedar Creek, outside of Ashland.

Boone County Joint Communications sent a notification at 10:22 p.m. stating that East Route Y was closed at South Clinkenbeard Road because of a vehicle collision.

Several first responders were at the scene, including an ambulance, firefighters and law enforcement.

Southern Boone Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Timothy Bullard said at the scene that three adults were in the crashed vehicle. Bullard said that two people needed to be pulled from the vehicle when firefighters arrived on the scene and a third was already inside a police vehicle when firefighters arrived.

However, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, it states that one of the passengers was a juvenile. The juvenile had minor injuries, another adult female in vehicle had moderate injuries and an adult male suffered serious injuries.

The report states the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle got back on the road then overturned on its left side.

All passengers were taken to University Hospital. The minor was the only one wearing a seatbelt.

ABC 17 News reached out to the Boone County Fire Protection District, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Ashland Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
