Columbia man killed in St. Louis County crash, St. Louis man arrested on suspicion of DWI

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was killed in St. Louis County after he was hit by a vehicle early Sunday on Interstate 55, north of Meremec Bottom Road.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a 2005 Nissan Xterra – driven by Semi Hadzisalihovic, 56, of St. Louis – was traveling in the northbound lane when it hit a pedestrian, Frederick Seim, 46, of Columbia.

Seim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 12:51 a.m., the report says. His body was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue.

An arrest report says that Hadzisalihovic was arrested by troopers on suspicion of driving while intoxicated -- causing the death of another person. Charges have not yet appeared on Casenet. An arrest report says that Hadzisalihovic was released.

Hadzisalihovic had no reported injuries and was wearing a seatbelt, the crash report says.
