Steelville man killed in Phelps County crash

PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 22-year-old Steelville man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Phelps County Thursday afternoon.

Troopers said the crash happened on Highway 63 near County Road 6220 at 2:15 p.m. when Gabriel Peak crossed the center line traveling into the northbound lane.

According to the report, Peak was driving a 2008 Honda when he hit a semi-truck head-on driven by Rajan Taylor, 42, of Potosi.

Peak was pronounced dead at the scene and it is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, Troopers said.

Taylor was not injured, according to the Highway Patrol.
