Missouri State Highway Patrol

SALINE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A passenger in a semi-truck was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night that occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at mile marker 84 in Saline County, a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report states.

The report says the crash occurred as a 2022 Kenworth truck – driven by Jeffrey McInturff, 57, of Piney Flats, Tennessee – went off the right side of the road and went through a ditch. The truck then came back to the roadway and overturned, the report says.

A passenger in the truck – Ronnie Heaton, 49, of Elizabethton, Tennessee – suffered serious injuries and was brought to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance, the report says. He was not wearing a seatbelt. McInturff was wearing a seatbelt and had no reported injuries, the report says.

The Kenworth had extensive damage, the report says.
