Newburg man seriously injured in weekend Phelps County crash

ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Newburg man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday on Doolittle Outer Road 1 in Phelps County, east of Route T, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the report, the crash occurred as a 2009 Hyundai Sonata – driven by Jerime Lister, 40 – was heading eastbound when Lister failed to negotiate a curve. The Hyundai went off the right side of the road, went down an embankment and hit guide wire and a tree, the report says.

The report says Lister was “partially ejected.” He was not wearing a seatbelt. Lister was brought to Phelps Health in Rolla by ambulance, the report says.

The Hyundai was totaled, the report says.
