Two seriously injured in Audrain County crash

AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday in Audrain County on Highway 15 at Route E, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states that a 1998 Ford F-150 – driven by Dayton Cates, 26, of Mexico, Missouri – was heading southbound when it went off the right side of the road and overturned several times. Cates and his passenger -- Carlee Abbott, 19, of Mexico, Missouri – were ejected from the truck, the report states.

Neither person was wearing a seatbelt and both were brought to University Hospital by ambulance, the report states. The Ford was totaled.

Cates was treated and released, while Abbott is in critical condition, according to MU Health Care.
