The crash occurred as a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Katelynn Reuter, 29, of Pilot Grove hit the back of a 2008 Ford Fusion, driven by Russell Johnson, 73, of Sedalia heading south.

The Ford then hit the back of a 2005 International driven by Jeffrey Twenter, 59, of Russel, Kansas as it was turning.

Johnson suffered serious injuries from the crash and was taken to University Hospital by Air Care. No other injuries were reported.
