Slater man seriously injured in Moniteau County crash

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 63-year-old Slater man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash Thursday in Moniteau County, on Highway 50 about 500 feet north of Koerkenmeier Road, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the report, the crash occurred when a 2014 Ford Fusion – driven by Edwin Petty – was heading eastbound on Highway 50 when it went off the right side of the road. The Ford then hit an embankment, crossed Koerkenmeier Road, hit a sign and stopped while facing north, the report states.

Petty was brought to Bothwell Regional Hospital by ambulance, the report states. He was wearing a seatbelt. The report states the Ford had extensive damage.
