Woman suffers serious injuries in Highway 63 crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 48-year-old Columbia woman suffered serious injuries in a crash in the northbound lane of Highway 63 near Old 63 in Hallsville, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the report, the crash occurred when a 2018 Ford Explorer – driven by Deana Phillips – rear-ended a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado that was “disabled due to a previous crash.” A crash report for that mentioned crash was not available.

Phillips suffered serious injuries and was brought to University Hospital by ambulance, according to the report. An MU Health Care spokesperson said in an email that Phillips was in fair condition. She was wearing a seatbelt, the report states. The Ford was totaled.

No one was in the Chevy and it had extensive damage, according to the report.

According to a social media post from the Boone County Fire Protection District, the northbound lanes of Highway 63 was closed for about 40 minutes.
