One injured in crash on highway in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person suffered moderate injuries in a crash Wednesday on westbound Highway 50/63 in Jefferson City, west of Shamrock Road, according to a crash report from the Jefferson City Police Department.

The crash occurred as a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado – driven by Jayne Williams, 63, of Belle – slowed down while entering a work zone.

Jonathan Campbell, 35, of Rocheport, was riding a 2008 Honda V Star motorcycle behind the Chevy. Campbell allegedly did not notice Williams slow down, lost control of the bike and hit the rear of the Chevy, the crash report states. The Honda then skid before stopping.

Campbell was brought to a Columbia hospital by ambulance. He was not wearing a helmet, the report states. Williams was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt.

The Chevy had moderate damage. The Honda was towed from the scene and had “disabling damage,” according to the report.
