Russellville man injured after truck crashes in Cole County

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Russellville man suffered moderate injuries Wednesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash in Cole County on Missouri 179 just north of Route N, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred as a 2011 International semi-truck – driven by Colby Gilpin, 31 – was heading southbound, went off the right side of the road, skid and overturned. Gilpin was wearing a seatbelt, according to the crash report.

Gilpin was taken to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance. The semi was totaled.

The Missouri Department of Transportation said the crash temporarily closed the highway in both directions and Cole County emergency dispatchers sent out a public alert about the crash.
