Teenager killed in Montgomery County crash

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A teenage boy was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday near Ellis Road in Montgomery County.

The 17-year-old, of Jonesburg, was not named in the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. He was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montgomery County coroner and his body was brought to Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City.

The crash occurred as the 1985 Honda 3-Wheeler –driven by the teenager – was heading south on Ellis Road. A 2014 GMC Sierra – driven by Jeffry Fort, 55, of Portland, Missouri – was heading westbound on the north service road, according to the crash report.

The teenager failed to stop at the stop sign and drove into the path of the GMC, according to the crash report.

Fort suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The 3-wheeler was totaled, while the GMC had extensive damage, according to the crash report.
