Three hurt in Jefferson City car crash

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people are recovering at a local hospital and one other was hurt after a car crash in Jefferson City Sunday morning.

At 10:45 Sunday morning, two cars crashed going westbound on U.S. Highway 50/63. Jefferson City Police responded to the crash.

According to a news release from Jefferson City Police, Nyesha Jones, 31, did not stop at a red light and hit Che Wilson, 42, in the intersection. Wilson had the right of way, according to Police.

Jones and her passenger, 35-year-old Gregory Corderious, were both injured. Jones was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Corderious declined any help from EMS crews.

Wilson was also taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Wilson's passenger, a 13-year-old boy, was not hurt.

Police say the accident impacted traffic for about 45 minutes.
