Two more lawsuits filed following deadly Amtrak train crash in Chariton

CHARITON, COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two more lawsuits have been filed connected to the Amtrak train derailment last month.

The first was filed by the two sons of Kim Holsapple, who was one of the passengers killed in the train derailment.

The lawsuit was filed by the victim's two sons against MS Contracting LLC and the driver of the truck who was also killed.

The lawsuit also includes is a mother and son who Holsapple was traveling with on the train.

The second lawsuit was filed by five passengers who were hurt in the derailment.

All five are filing for negligence against BNSF railways, MS Contracting and the owner of the company.

All are asking for $25,000 for their injuries.

This is the ninth and tenth lawsuit to be filed so far in connection the crash.
