On Saturday morning, the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the passing lanes in both the east and westbound lanes on Interstate 70 at the High Hill overpass at mile marker 180 to replace traffic barriers in the area.

“The overpass column in the median was hit Thursday night, and in order for work to be done to stabilize the bridge and replace the column, the traffic barriers will remain in place while workers repair the bridge,” explained MoDOT Assistant District Engineer Kevin James said in a release.

The Route F bridge/overpass will remain closed, and all ramps at the interchange will remain open.

Beginning next week, the contractor will remove the damaged column and replace it with a new one. “The repair could take up to several weeks,” added James in the release.

A truck driver was seriously injured in that wreck.
