No highway, water deaths reported in Central Missouri over Memorial Day weekend

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No one died on the roads or the water over Memorial Day weekend in the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop F, which covers Central Missouri.

Troop F reported 29 vehicle crashes with 10 people injured. Troopers made 13 DWI arrests and five drug arrests. Troopers also responded to 13 boat crashes that led to nine injuries. Officials reported two BWI arrests.

In 2021, Troop F reported one fatal wreck (the driver was not wearing a seatbelt) and seven injury crashes. One person drowned at the Lake o the Ozarks last year.

Across the state, the Missouri State Highway Patrol this year investigated 304 crashes with 115 people injured and nine deaths. Troopers reported 121 DWI arrests and 79 drug arrests. Two police departments also investigated a traffic death bringing the total to 11 for the 2022 holiday weekend.

Troopers investigated 19 boat crashes that had 13 injuries. One person drowned and troopers arrested six for BWI.

During the 2021 counting period, the patrol investigated 258 traffic crashes, which included 84 injuries and four deaths. One person drowned over the 2021 Memorial Day holiday.
