Russellville man dies in Camden County crash Thursday morning

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Russellville man has died after a wreck on Highway 5 in Camden County near Concrete Drive.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report indicates at 11:40 a.m. that David Matheis, 59, was driving a 2009 Chevy Express when the vehicle crossed over into the centerline and sideswiped a 2019 Honda Ridgeline.

The Chevy then drove off the right side of the road into an embankment before hitting several trees and the ground.

A doctor pronounced Matheis dead at Lake Regional Hospital. It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Honda did not report any injuries.

This is Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F’s second fatality in April and 24th in 2022.
