Truck driver suffers minor injuries in Interstate 70 crash that closed outer road

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A box truck driver was hurt after a crash Thursday night on Interstate 70 east of Columbia near the Rangeline Road exit.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes at the 134.2 mile marker at about 8 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, when a truck driven by Jamal Dawoud, 20, of Plano, Texas, rear-ended a Ford Fusion. The truck went off the road and overturned, the patrol said.

Dawoud had minor injuries and refused medical treatment, the patrol said.

The crash led to emergency crews blocking an I-70 outer road for a brief time as the scene was cleaned up.
