A Columbia man was taken to University Hospital after crashing his motorcycle Monday night.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday on Northbound Route PP.

Christian Bullard, 30, was riding his motorcycle on Route PP just north of Thompson Road when a deer entered the roadway. Troopers said Bullard started to brake to avoid hitting the deer when his motorcycle started overturning and threw him off.

The crash report said Boone County EMS transported Bullard to University Hospital with serious injuries. Hospital officials told ABC 17 News Tuesday morning that Bullard was treated and released.

His motorcycle was extensively damaged.

Troopers reported that Bullard was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
