Traffic moving after crash on I-70 near Highway 63 connector in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 11:10 a.m.: The interstate was open near the connector as of 11 a.m. A couple emergency vehicles remain at the scene but traffic is moving in the area.

ORIGINAL: Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed in Columbia after a crash.

Boone County Joint Communications sent an alert about the incident shortly before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A traffic camera on the Missouri Department of Transportation's Traveler map showed a major backup near the Highway 63 connector due to the closure.

The camera appeared to show at least two semi-trucks involved in the crash. MoDOT Central District posted to Twitter, calling it a multi-vehicle crash.

ABC 17 News crews are on their way to the crash.
