One person dead, five people injured in two-vehicle wreck on Highway 54 Friday afternoon

BRAZITO, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person is dead and five people are injured after a wreck on Highway 54 just south of Brazito.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 71-year-old John Hannan attempted to cross Highway 54 from Route D when he drove into the path of an oncoming 2021 Chevy Tahoe.

The Tahoe hit Hannan's vehicle. Hannan died at the scene.

The family in the Tahoe all had injuries.

The driver, Bryan Taylor, of Winchester, Ill., has moderate injuries, his wife Molly and a 13-year-old son have serious injuries and two other sons (13 and eight) have minor injuries.

Both Molly and Bryan were not wearing seatbelts.

The family was taken by ambulance to University Hospital.
