One person dies in a mid-day wreck in Camden County Monday

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Eldridge, Mo. man died Monday just before noon after a one vehicle wreck on Highway D in Camden County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 80-year-old Leonard Byars was driving a 1994 Ford Explorer on Highway D when it ran off the side of the road. Byars reportedly overcorrected then hit a tree.

The local medical examiner declared Byars dead at the scene.

Troopers report this is Troop F's sixth May fatality and 23rd overall in 2021.
