Four hospitalized, one arrested following wreck in Moniteau County
MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said four people were hurt after two vehicles collided on Route A in Moniteau County Monday night.
Troopers said in a separate report that one of the drivers, 27-year-old Erik S. Blackwell, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The crash report said Blackwell was driving west on Route A and 31-year-old Emily B. Garrison was driving in the opposite direction around 8:05 p.m.
Garrison had two passengers, Zachary R. Garrison, 32, and an infant younger than 1-year-old.
Troopers said everyone involved in the wreck was from Russellville.
Blackwell's 2009 Chevrolet truck crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and hit Garrison's passenger car, the report said.
The Garrisons were taken to University Hospital in Columbia. Hospital spokesman Eric Maze said both were in fair condition as of Tuesday morning. The crash report said neither was wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers said the infant was seriously injured in the crash and taken to SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. The baby's condition as of Tuesday morning was not immediately known.
Reports said Blackwell had minor injuries and was also taken to St. Mary's Hospital.
The arrest report said Blackwell was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges including DWI causing serious physical injuries. The online documents said he was released from police custody for medical treatment.
