Columbia man dies in Maries County wreck

VICHY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting a Columbia man has died from a wreck in Maries County after the vehicle he was in hit two buildings and overturned.

According to the crash report, Travis Swearengin, 32, was traveling northbound on Highway 63 inside Vichy city limits when it went off the side of the road and hit two buildings and overturned.

Swearengin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials report that Swearengin was not wearing a seatbelt.

This is the third death this month/year for Troop I.
