Wrong-way DWI crash closes Highway 50 early New Year’s Day
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Missouri state troopers say an early New Year's Day DWI crash closed Highway 50 just outside of Jefferson City.
The highway patrol arrest report said 43-year-old James Ketcherside, of Centertown, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and causing a wrong-way crash.
According to the crash report, Ketcherside was driving east on Highway 50 West and crashed into 39-year-old Danielle Morris.
Crews blocked off the westbound lanes of highway around 1:30 a.m. Authorities alerted media to the closure over radio traffic.
Morris was taken to a Jefferson City hospital with moderate injuries, troopers said.
Ketcherside's arrest report said he was taken to the Cole County Jail after the wreck.
